Three Detoxing Favorites

My mycotoxin test results are normal! My detoxing efforts and healthy lifestyle removed Ochratoxin A (toxic mold tied to kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease) from my body. I’m glad to finally be mold-free on the inside!

Detoxing is still an important part of my healthy lifestyle. Most of us are exposed to chemicals, preservatives, metals, and even mycotoxins. I want to continue removing oxidative damage from my brain and body.

Here are three detoxing favorites. (I’ll cover more later.)

1) Daily exercise - Swim, walk, cardio, run, weights, yoga, cycling, rowing, elliptical… Get out and move every day. Raise your heart rate. Vary exercise during the week and over time. Sweat some. Repeat. Every day. Probably the most important tool of all.

2) Fresh, organic vegetables from hydroponic Lettuce Grow tower - Wayne and I get a burst of energy, a “green high” from our daily salad. Since one of the first rules of detoxing is to avoid chemicals and preservatives, a daily organic salad from your garden is a great way to start. Greens also help provide some of the 35 grams of daily fiber needed as part of a good detoxing/healthy lifestyle. (Some hydroponic gardens are small enough to fit on a kitchen counter; find one that suits you.)

3) Ionic Foot Bath - Many Mold Facebook friends swear by ionic foot baths as a detoxing tool, but I never knew which one to order. I finally found a reasonably priced referral from my functional medicine physician’s clinic. They use this one at their clinic. I’ve used it twice and think it’s worthwhile; more on that later.
